Our daily routines can’t function without makeup for some of us. Putting on our faces before going out gives us confidence and helps us transform ourselves. Even so, as much as we love makeup, we’re also aware of the fact that we’re willingly exposing our faces to a lot of chemicals. Resetting can sometimes be achieved by taking a week – or even longer if you can.
1. Remove Impurities From Your Skin
Our regular application of makeup blocks our pores from absorbing oxygen, as we add thick layers of makeup onto our skin. You can let your skin breathe and cleanse itself by taking a week off from makeup.
As a result of this process, acne will also be reduced. Oxygen increases your pores, which makes it easier to wash dirt out when your pores open up. In order to make this process more effective, you may want to get some facials or extractions while you are not wearing makeup.
2. Determine Which Products are Problematic
It is impossible to learn how our skin reacts to a wide variety of products if we use them consistently. Take a break from makeup so you can get to know your skin and what works best for it.
The skin will reset and renew itself after a week of having clear skin, since it takes a week for the skin to undergo a regeneration cycle. One element at a time should be reintroduced after a week. Slowly reintroducing products will help you determine what irritates your skin and what does not.
3. Take a Deep Breath
As we have to apply makeup on our eyes and then rub it off, wearing makeup on the eyes tends to irritate our eyes. When your eyes are rubbed regularly, they become sensitive and irritated. The same applies to your eyelashes as well!
If you wear mascara regularly, you add clumps of makeup to your eyelashes, which you rub off at night, which creates more friction on your eyes. Taking a week off of mascara will make your eyelashes stronger since you will not be weighing them down with free makeup.
4. Save Time.
Having a makeup routine can be quite time-consuming in the mornings and before going out. Avoiding makeup is a great way to save time! You can get a lot more sleep or free time if you don’t wear makeup for a week. Depending on how in-depth your daily makeup routine is, you may find that you need to count up to 8 different steps or more in order to complete it.
5. Peaceful Environment
Our tendency to hide behind makeup helps us feel more confident, so taking off makeup for a week can benefit us tremendously. If you do decide to go without makeup for a week, you may initially feel uncomfortable as you are not used to doing so, but making this choice will force you to embrace any aspect of your face that you may not be entirely comfortable with.
As the week draws to a close, you will become more comfortable in your own skin. Your skin will be nourished and glowing after applying a little moisturizer and SPF in the morning. Since you will be cutting down your routine time, you will also have more time to enjoy other activities. Enjoy the simple things in life, such as going to bed without having to remove your makeup for five to ten minutes before going to bed.
