You probably already know what you should do during your pregnancy: stay hydrated, take your vitamins, eat healthy, not stress, exercise, rest well, and so on.  there are a lot of things on these comprehensive lists of shoulds that aren’t fun. And now is the time to have some fun.

There’s no denying that on days, it feels nice to stay in bed. To laze around and surf through your Spectrum cable channels, or watch your favorite shows. But don’t confine yourself indoors or stay inactive too long. After a while, it gets to you, and is not healthy otherwise!

So How to Have Fun When Pregnant!

True, you can’t drink or ride a roller coaster but there’s a lot that can be done to revive that playful spirit of yours. Here are some ideas to have fun during pregnancy and remain safe at the same time.

1: Start Gardening

Take up a new hobby to keep yourself busy and have a great time. Gardening is the safest hobby to start with. Plant some cilantro, basil, and flowers in your pots. You may also Sprout some beans, seeds, or grains in a Mason jar. Caring for and nurturing these plants will be a refreshing activity. It’s a bonus to see them bud and grow.

2: Dance While You Can

dancing is excellent for soon-to-be mothers and it’s exactly what you should be doing right now if you’re up for some fun. Blast whatever music you like, not what you’re meant to like! swirl your hips and lift your arms in the air like you don’t care—in your living room, backyard, or anywhere you feel like!

3: Dive into a New Book

Allow yourself to be immersed in a new book this time. It’s the ideal vacation for you at this point in your life. Buy some of the most anticipated books you have been looking forward to reading and dive in. Let your mind wander.

4: Treat Yourself with A Spa Session

Pamper yourself with hairstyles, makeovers, and spa treatments. A good massage won’t just relieve the pains and the aches but will relax your mind too.

While you’re receiving a foot massage, there’s no harm in reading your favorite book. Invite your best friend to get a foot massage with you. This will make your session more enjoyable.

5: Plan Getaways

Before you reach the stage of pregnancy where you can’t travel, take advantage of the time before the baby arrives to travel as much as possible. Traveling with a baby is possible, but it is much more exhausting. You’d have to bring a car seat, a stroller, and a large diaper bag with you.

You can, however, embark on a trip with your partner and a minimal suitcase while pregnant. It will be so much fun!

6: Hang Out with Your Gals

Make a few phone calls and get together with some buddies for a few drinks, non-alcoholic cocktails, of course. Once the baby arrives, it usually becomes the mother’s priority. So, take advantage of this opportunity to go out and have some fun.

7: Write Your Baby Some Letters

Some mothers-to-be like to write letters to their infants while they were pregnant and intend to present them to their children once they are older. This is the best thing to do to express love for your child.

Keeping a pregnancy notebook, and even more particularly, writing letters to your unborn child, is a wonderful way to connect and bond with your child before birth. It’s something you may like to do after some of the more significant pregnancy milestones, such as ultrasounds or first kicks. It’s also something you may do to ground yourself and connect with your baby if you’re having trouble sleeping or feeling anxious.

8: Meet with a Bump Buddy or Two

Let’s finish this list off with something fun and social that’s especially for you! go out and meet a bump buddy (another pregnant mother). It’s so great to connect with a mama who is due around the same time as you. You’ll have someone to empathize with in real-time, and once the baby arrives, you’ll have an instant mom pal.

Look for a bump buddy via local Facebook groups, waiting rooms in a clinic, or at a parental fitness class. Be each other’s support and friend during this wonderful journey.
